SHITx Talks is making a comeback as part of AC Smith's 2023 CalArts REEF Residency!
You are invited to an intimate soft opening reception and dinner-theater party for the exhibition Hungry Bottom: On Cloacal Thinking hosted by AC Smith, a 2023 CalArts REEF Resident. Presenting SHITx Talks written and performed by Shoji Yamasaki, and a debut table-reading of Katie Couric Gets A Colonoscopy | TODAY featuring C Bain and Dallas Havoc, written by AC Smith with script supervision by C Bain.
Hungry Bottom is a psycho-somatic curatorial study on queer relationships with the gut presented by 2023 Calarts REEF Resident, AC Smith. A mise-en-scène that serves as both a bathroom and dining room exhibits works by artists C Bain, Patty Chang, Caleb Craig, Dallas Havoc, Elizabeth Herring, stephanie mei huang, Annika Klein, White Male Artist AKA Cassils, and Zenaido Zamora. Dedicated to the lesbians and bisexuals in Smith’s life with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Please RSVP in advance, this is a private event with limited seating. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Kindly arrive before 7:50 pm to The REEF (1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90007). Guests are suggested to eat something light before like a turkey wrap.
